SAMANTHA has three siblings and the sole provider of the family is her father, who works as a journalist. When Samantha started at University, she was amazed by the amount of freedom students had. Samantha said that being part of These Numbers Have Faces has surrounded her with encouragement to live out her vision for her life: to further develop Rwanda's economy as a civil engineer.
Outside of University classes, Samantha volunteers teaching French, helping students with interview skills, and babysitting her adorable baby niece.
BERTHINE is a civil engineering student at the Kigali Institute of Science & Technology. Her goal is to use her engineering degree to improve the infrastructure of Rwanda. Berthine comes from a big family -seven siblings-and hopes her degree and future job will allow her to help improve the quality of life for her family, especially her parents, who are unemployed.
